Susie Wolff’s journey in motorsport is a story of talent, perseverance, and breaking barriers in a male-dominated world. Born on December 6, 1982, in the picturesque town of Oban, Scotland, Susie showed an early fascination with speed and mechanics. Encouraged by her father, a motorsport enthusiast, she began karting as a teenager, quickly demonstrating not only natural driving talent but also an instinctive understanding of race strategy and car performance. Competing against some of the best young male drivers in British and European championships, she consistently proved that skill knows no gender.

Her professional career took a decisive turn in 2006 when she entered the German Formula 3 Championship, followed by the British Formula 3 series, where her relentless dedication and technical understanding of racing carsearned her recognition from the motorsport community. In 2012, Wolff joined Williams Formula 1 as a development driver—a role that went far beyond driving laps. She became integral to the team’s performance, contributing to car testing, data analysis, and performance optimization. Her insight and feedback helped engineers refine the cars, while she also learned the complexities of Formula 1 operations at the highest level.

Beyond her technical contributions on the track, Susie Wolff became a powerful advocate for women in motorsport. She engaged with the media, participated in mentorship programs, and worked tirelessly to open doors for young female drivers, demonstrating that dedication and expertise are what matter most in high-level racing. Her efforts have inspired a new generation of women to pursue careers in motorsport, whether as drivers, engineers, or team leaders.

Today, Susie Wolff serves as the Managing Director of the F1 Academy, an all-female racing series dedicated to developing and nurturing emerging female talent. In this leadership role, she oversees every aspect of the series—from operations and logistics to driver development and strategic planning. Her vision is not only to prepare young drivers for a future in Formula 1 but also to create a lasting impact on the motorsport industry by promoting diversity and inclusion. Combining her rich experience as a professional racer with her leadership skills, Susie continues to be a trailblazer, shaping the future of women in motorsport and leaving an indelible mark on the racing world.
